Project work is estimated as close to a final price as I can get it, though as a project moves along, unforeseen items can affect the timeline and cost. I will tell you before that happens, not after.

Diagnostic work varies. Some faults turn up in minutes, others take real time to trace. Diagnostic time carries a minimum charge, credited toward the repair.
